Deviousness |
He knows how to balance the Humor, Drama and Nostalgia. eventually it's going to have to include a very good interaction with characters who have NEVER been on the big screen together. that's why they need to follow the humor-angst that Bruce Timm was able to write for the screen
ARE YOU FUCKING MAD???!!!!
-Brad Bird
-J.J. Abrams
-Zack Snyder.
Fuck Michael Bay
Ridley is... to Sci Fi, still a great director!
Ridley Scott, as others have said, he's been doing less and less quality work. I've only seen a handful of his movies, and in all honesty they were mildly entertaining at best. His films always feel, small. I wouldn't want a JL film to be like that. It would be huge.
Michael Bay, unlike a lot of people here, i'm a huge fan of his work. People jsut seem to take his films too seriously, he's not trying to win Oscars or change minds, he's trying to make popcorn flicks. However, to compete with Avengers, JL would need someone a little more well rounded than Michael Bay. He'd be good at directing the fight scenes and action, but he wouldn't really do well for the rest. At the same time, a lot of the complaints people make about his films are aspects he didn't control, namely the writing and dialog. If he was teamed up with a decent writing team he could very well pull it off, and if it did, I think it could really help him get more public acceptence.
Brad Bird: In all honesty I've seen very little of him. The stuff I have seen was really old and I haven't seen since I was younger, so I don't really remember much. With that in mind, I think he could do well in the character drive department, as the films he's done I do know they were praised for great characterization. He could do well, but he would, like Bay, probably require a decent writing team.
Gore Verbinski: This could work actually. I do enjoy the Pirates of the Carribean films evey time I watch them, and while Justice League would need to be bigger, it would probably work.
J.J. Abrams: Never actually watched any of his work, I need to. So, I can't comment.
Zack Snyder: This guy would do good, depending on how the film is played out. From what I've seen so far, his films have mostly been bleak. Good films, but quite bleak. Now, that's the storywriting's fault, it makes me question how well he'd do. It would depend solely on how well Man of Steel turns out.
My choice, either Brad Bird, Gore Verbinski, or Zack Snyder. If he could do it well, I'd like to see Michael Bay do it, but it would really depend on how serious the project is taken by both him and the public.
